Description View of bell margin, sp -- exumbrellar clasps, rc' -- circular canal, rc -- radial canal, ga -- mesogloea, go -- gonads, t -- tentacle, v -- velum

Diagnosis (translated and simplified after Hartlaub, 1909; type specimen) Bell 5 mm diameter, bulbous; mesogloea very transparent, fragile but relatively thick. The manubrium about half the height of the subumbrella. Eight radial canals, narrow, carrying the gonads, the latter relatively small, narrow, elongated, along proximal ¾ of radial canals. Eight tentacle bulbs and tentacles. Between each successive pairs of tentacles four meridianal, parallel ridges clasping bell margin and exumbrella up to the height of the begin of the gonads. Velar opening about as wide as distance of two tentacles.
