New data are brought on the taxonomy of Calycosoma and Lophocalyx, two closely related rossellid genera. A specimen from the Antarctic, previously identified as Calycosoma validum, is transferred here to Lophocalyx sp. Six new species of Lophocalyx are described, found in different regions of the Atlantic Ocean, between 500 and 2860 m depth. The diagnoses of these two genera are revised, and their likely affinities are discussed.
