Nomenclature The name was first introduced in synonymy of Astarte but made available retroactively, according to the provisions of ICZN art. 11.6.1, by being used as the valid name of a taxon [for the first time, by Bergeron (1888) who explicitly claimed that priority should be given to Digitaria over Woodia Deshayes, 1860] [details]
