Taxonomy [Megalomphalus] depressus is from deeper water (down to 195 m) and we suspect that it simply is a deep water form of azonus. We are, however, not certain about this and recommend that the two names should be used whenever it is possible to classify specimens as belonging to one or the other of the two forms, to avoid confusion if they should turn out to be distinct species. [details]
