Four species of the genus
Streptosyllis from the Canary Islands are reported and described:
S. bidentata,
S. websteri,
S. templadoi and
S. campoyi n. sp. The new species is characterized by compound setae with falcate teeth and a unique distribution of the enlarged aciculae. The species
S. templadoi is a new record to the Atlantic, and
S. bidentata and
S. websteri are newly recorded from the Canary Islands. Original drawings of these species are provided, as well as data on their autoecology. A key to the species of
Streptosyllis from the Canary Islands is provided.
