Begins [translation]: "During a long stay in the western archipelago of Sweden I have, so far as circumstances permit, not neglected to undertake investigations into the Swedish annulata fauna in general, in addition to what has already been published concerning the Disciferae, and especially during the summer months of 1852, 1856, 1861 and 1865 I devoted my attention to this direction. From these years' research in this field there is also carefully arranged material and a multitude of notes on these animal forms, which notes will soon be published. I nevertheless feel that I should already now send the present overview of this fauna, especially as nothing in this respect has been published here since Prof. A. J. Malmgren published his carefully prepared studies of Nordic annulata, which works are printed in the Proceedings of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for the years 1865 and 1867."
