@article{ERMS:SourceID:6917, abstract = {New species of Lamellodiscus (Plathelminthes, Monogenea, Diplectanidae) from the gills of the marine fishes of the genus Pagrus (Teleostei, Sparidae). Three species of Lamellodiscus Johnston & Tiegs, 1922 were collected from the gills of two species of Pagrus Cuvier, 1816 (Sparidae) from Mediterranean and Atlantic waters: Lamellodiscus sarculus n. sp. and L. sigillatus n. sp. from Pagrus coeruleostictus (Valenciennes, 1830), and L. rastellus n. sp. from P. auriga (Valenciennes, 1843). This three parasites belong to the group of Lamellodiscus characterized by a lamellodisc of the group “ignoratus” with entirely circular sclerotised lamellae and a copulatory organ of the type “lyre”; composed in two parts, one simple piece and one forked. These three new species can be distinguished by the morphology of the sclerotized haptoral structure and the copulatory organ. These species are found, on respective host, in the Atlantic Ocean (Senegal) and in Mediterranean Sea (Tunisia). A structure with a variable size related to a “pseudospermatophore” was observed in the vagina of numerous Lamellodiscus possessing a copulatory organ of the type “lyre”. The specificity of Lamellodiscus parasites of the sparid teleost of the genus Pagrus may be oioxenic.}, author = {Neifar, L. and Euzet, L. and Oliver, G.}, journal = {Zoosystema }, pages = {365-376}, title = {New species of Lamellodiscus (Platyhelminthes, Monogenea, Diplectanidae) from the gills of the marine fishes of the genus Pagrus (Teleostei, Sparidae).}, url = {http://www.marbef.org/data/aphia.php?p=sourcedetails&id=6917}, volume = {26}, year = {2004} }
