Biology Type of larval development: short planktonic, non-planktotrophic [details]
Diagnosis Shell 10-12 mm long, with oval-elongate contour and moderately elevated profile, apex close to posterior margin, moderately coiled and not overhanging. Sculpture of high, strong radial costae, some smaller radial costae intercalated on the sides, and comarginal lamellae forming a very coarse lattice with the costae. Slit broad and rectangular, extending over 1/5 of the distance to apex. Colour white. [details]
Distribution Eastern Atlantic, from S. Spain to Morocco; Mediterranean (from nearshore to ca. 50 m). Gorringe seamount (rare in 70-180) m. [details]
