Spelling Prolopadorhynchus is correctly spelled with single 'r' -rhynchus, as that was Bergström's spelling, and cannot be corrected to double 'r' to match Lopadorrhynchus [details]

Synonymy Tebble's (1960) synonymisation of Prolopadorhynchus back into Lopadorrhynchus was followed by Kim (1967) and Dales (1972). The distinction of Bergström (1914) was based on presence (in Prolopadorhynchus) of ventral cirri on the first two parapodia (absent in Lopadorrhynchus). [details]
