The Marine Science Job & Candidate Finder
Introduction
The Marine Science Job and Candidate Finder is an initiative taken by MarBEF to offer a service to marine scientists, wherever they are in their career, to find the right job opportunities, or to offer recruiters the best way to find the best candidate.
Today, more than ever, globalisation increases the mobility of researchers all over the world. Scientists often have no other choice than to move abroad. Finding a job in marine science remains difficult, but finding the right scientist out of the enormous and still growing pool of candidates is far from easy either. The increasing demand and supply of jobs or trainings and candidates inspired us to build a system to facilitate this communication.
With this service we wish to make your job or candidate search as easy as possible (go to find Job/Training or find CV). Are you a jobseeker or do you want to improve your skills by doing an internship or some voluntary work? With this service you can advertise yourself and submit your wishes in the online CV archive (go to submit/edit your CV). Although not all the fields are mandatory, the possibilities to describe your scientific background are large and well developed.
On the other hand, recruiters can offer jobs or training opportunities by entering the job and profile details in the vacancy archive, totally free of charge (go to submit/manage your vacancy). These two sections are interlinked: the recruiter will see the CVs that match the profile, and the candidate will be notified when a matching opportunity turns up. Via the advanced search options you can specify your selection criteria and search throughout the database.
The system is being developed and maintained by the MarBEF data management team at the Flanders Marine Institute, who also controls the processing. The information that will be stored in the database is subject to a number of rules as outlined in a Privacy and Proper Use Statement. Please read this statement carefully before entering your details, in order to make good and maximum use of this service.
Wish you good luck in your career,
