In cooperation with the IVM-VU, the candidate will work on obtaining synoptic estimates of phytoplankton and microphyto-benthos biomass in the Wadden Sea as well as on developing habitat maps which are a [function] of tidal height, tidal energy and sediment characteristics. The post-doc is responsible for the collection and interpretation of remote sensing data from air-borne and satellite-borne sensors. Remote sensing algorithms should be developed to estimate primary production of both primary producer groups, and where possible detection algorithms should be developed to detect and estimate different functional primary producer groups (e.g. diatoms, cyanobacteria etc) using the RS data and data measured with the different sensors arrays of the coastal monitoring stations.
