Vacancy Title Research Fellowship in Environmental Sciences

Job description We are looking for an Environmental Scientist to support projects aimed at the assessment of the impacts of natural and anthropogenic pressures on terrestrial and marine ecosystems.

The Research programme-
The research project- ,Knowledge-based Sustainable Management for Europe's Seas-,,- ,funded by the European Commission,- ,aims at providing a comprehensive scientific knowledge base for the application of the Ecosystem Approach to the sustainable development of Europe's regional seas and at supporting policy makers in the development of marine environmental policies.
The research will be carried out at the Institute of Atmospheric Pollution Research of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-IIA).
The CNR-IIA is a leading research institute on different aspects related to environmental pollution. Its traditional research field of air pollution has been expanded to the development of remote sensing techniques, integrated research strategies for coastal zone management, and socio-economic analysis and policy support.


The Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should hold a PhD in environmental sciences or a related subject.- ,Research experience in marine ecology and/or ecosystem modelling will be a definite advantage.- ,Knowledge of environmental status of the Mediterranean Sea and previous experience in past EU projects related to DPSIR analysis are highly desirable.

The Position
This position has a- ,12-month appointment on a full time basis with possibility for extension.- ,Salary is commensurate with the individual's experience and publication record.- ,Starting date is as soon as possible.
