Description
Phytoplankton samples were collected in the framework of the GLOBEC Germany project. The main aim of this project was to study the trophodynamic interactions between zooplankton and planktivorous fish in relation to reproductive success under the impact of physical forcing. The general biodiversity of the phytoplankton on a small scale was studied, as well as the distribution of harmful species in the area.
