Terms and conditions

  • Draw a Picture: Entrants must be aged 12 years or under at time of closing date for entries.
  • Design a Poster: Entrants must be aged 18 years or under at time of closing date for entries
  • Take a Photograph: Open to all ages
  • All entrants under 18 years of age must provide the written consent of a parent or guardian, which should accompany entries.
  • The names and contact details of entrants will be used solely for the distribution of prizes and for the promotion of this national photography competition.
  • Entries must be submitted either in hard copy (size 7” x 5” on photographic paper) only or as an attachment to an e-mail, in black and white or colour. Entries must NOT be mounted but should be sent in a hard backed envelope. The following information must accompany each entry: entrant’s name, address, contact phone number (home or school), email address, age, school name, address, caption, an explanatory paragraph minimum 50 words/maximum 200 words and details of when and where the photograph was taken. Photographs digitally enhanced or altered will not be accepted.
  • Photographers have complete copyright over their works. On submission of photographs as part of this competition, the photographers of the photographs consent to providing a non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free license to MarBEF to use the photographs for promotional purposes.
  • The winners' names and photographs may be used in promotional activities for the photography competition.
  • No cash equivalent is available as an alternative to the prizes offered. Details of prizes overleaf.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and will only be awarded to the prizewinner.
  • No entries will be returned and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging of the competition.
  • MarBEF reserves to amend the competition rules prior to the closing date, after posting notice on its website.
  • MarBEF does not accept any liability for any printing errors, non-received, delayed, lost, damaged or stolen entries or for the cancellation or postponement of this competition.
  • The closing date for entries is Friday, 29th September 2006.
  • The winners will be notified by post or by phone, where possible, and announced in the next edition of the MarBEF newsletter October 2006.

  • The judge’s decision is final. By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
