"Coastal grassland" is one of the habitat sub-categories within the section dealing with biodiversity of coastal and marine habitats and ecosystems. This forms part of the ENCORA Theme 7. This article will attempt to describe the various forms of grassland that occur on the coast. These range from those with little or no maritime influence to those subjected to sea water seepage, unlike Coastal grazing marsh they do not have their origins in tidal salt marsh.
