Status The phylogenomic analysis of Mongiardino Koch et al. (2022) identified a clade including echinothurioids and pedinoids (Echinothuriacea sensu Mongiardino Koch
et al., 2018) and confirmed an aulodont affinity for aspidodiadematoids (Kroh, 2020; Mongiardino Koch and Thompson, 2021d) and placed them within Echinothuriacea as
the sister group to Pedinoida. [details]
