A new species of freshwater nematode, Tobrilusgranatensis,collected from temperate and warm
springs near Granada (Spain) is described. Tobrilusgranatensisis from 1.4 to 2.4 mm long. Its
stomatal cavity consists of an anterior buccal chamber and 2 toothed posterior pockets. In
females, vagina short and well muscled. Male with complete spicular apparatus showing 6
precloacal supplements, the 4 anterior ones bigger than the 2 posterior. Distance between S3
and S4 especially marked. Spicula thin and slightly curved. Gubernaculum delicate. Tail with
subterminal seta. The springs in which the species is found also show marked physical and
chemical characteristics.
