Phallodrilus altus sp.n, is described from the Arctic deep sea (640-2470 m depth) N of Alaska. The species is characterized by very slender and pointed somatic setae heavily muscular atria, and large, conspicuous penial setae. It appears closely related to another. (but Atlantic) deep-sea form, P, profundus Cook, 1970. P. postspermathecatus sp.n. is described from the west coast of Norway (40-80 m depth). It is primarily distinguished from all other species of Phallodrilus by its peculiar long spermathecae, which are located posterior to the male ducts, not in segment X, which is normal for Tubificidae.
