Abstract
This study is the seventh component of the ‘Research on the environmental effects of the SIGMA plan: Effects of dredgings and harbour expansion on the environment’

The ecological modeling can’t be extended to the whole Sea Scheldt until more information on the lateral input is available. The existing data concerning the lateral input need to be collected and combined.
An inventory of all discharging points of the Sea Scheldt is made. Discharging points are rivers, polders, locks, industrial discharging points and others. Data concerning the discharging points are collected and joined in a centralized database. The following parameters are priority: outflow, BOD5 values, total charge of detritus, Kjehldahl nitrogen, dissolved silica, nitrate and nitrite, ammonium and oxygen concentration. The atmospheric nitrogen deposition are taken into account. All data must be collected with indication of name, time and the nature of discharging. Name includes a description of the location, the name of the possibly involved company and XY-coordinates. The distance of the discharging point by to the input of the Sea Scheldt must be indicated, and reflected for each discharging point. The dates are processed to an access-file, to enable the selection by segment.
