Etymology The generic name Inermosyllis is a composed name derived from the Latin word inermis, meaning 'unarmed' or 'without weapons', and the generic name Syllis, the type genus of the family, and refers to the absence of teeth or a trepanus in the pharynx of the species belonging to the genus. [details]
Homonymy The generic name Pseudosyllides Augener, 1927 is homonymous with Pseudosyllides Czerniavsky, 1882 (POlychaeta: Syllidae). For this reason San Martín (2003: 326) proposed the new replacement name Inermosyllis. [details]
Remark New name for Pseudosyllides Augener, 1927. [details]
