Abstract
The virtual-mass of water moving with a vibrating sluice gate is determined for a gate with an inclined and a vertical front and with three different bottom profiles. Also the variation of the virtual-mass during wave attack is studied.

A description of the model and the measurements is given. Some results are given from which coefficients, to be used in the design-computations, are derived.
