Abstract
The “end to end” data management (E2EDM) system is considered as thecoordinated and inter-connected combination of the following basic components:- the ocean and marine meteorological data management systems (local datasystem systems) which are operated and being developed under various ocean studyprograms and services;.- the integration technology as an “umbrella” that comprises local datasystems and provides communication and “transparent” interaction betweenmetadata, data and products resulted from these local data systems and also an enduseraccess to any data and information generated by systems. In 2004-2006 the prototype of the E2EDM system was developed under theJCOMM/IODE ETDMP Pilot Project III.The four data sources (10 information resources) were provided by VLIZ(Belgium), RIHMI-WDC (Russian Federation), Met Office (United Kingdom) andIFREMER (France) for domain covering oceanographic and marine meteorologicalobservation data and product.
