Abstract
The bryozoan Bugula simplex Hincks, 1886 is reported as a new species for the Belgian fauna. It was present during the months September and October 2000 in the fou1ing community of the Mercator yachting harbour at Oostende. As this site was surveyed regularly during the past few years, this species is obviously a recent introduction.
