Diagnosis Thorax with 11 segments; peristomium and first segment achaetous; first chaetiger with capillary chaetae in notopodia only; following 9 chaetigers with capillary chaetae only in both rami; abrupt transition between thorax and abdomen. [details]
Etymology The generic name derives from the superficial resemblance of the new genus to Notomastus M. Sars, 1850. It is formed by adding the prefix of Greek origin pseudo-, meaning 'false', to the generic name Notomastus. [details]
