Etymology Not stated in the original description. The specific epithet trilobata (masculine: trilobatus) is a Latin adjective meaning 'trilobate' or 'having three lobes', and refers presumably to the shape of the anterior edge of the prostomium: " [...] prostomium, profondément échancré à l'extrémité antérieure. [...] Sur le bord antérieure, deux échancrures délimitent un petit lobe médian, souvent redressé vers le haut, et deux lobes latéraux" (Laubier & Ramos, 1974: 1131). [details]
Habitat Mud, at bathyal depths. [details]
Homonymy Aricidea trilobata Laubier & Ramos, 1974 is a resolved junior primary homonym to Aricidea trilobata Imajima, 1973, fide Blake (1996:62), and was replaced by the name Aricidea (Acmira) jeaneteae Langeneck, Busoni, Aliani & Castelli, 2017 [details]
Homonymy Langeneck et al. (2017) resolved the junior homonymy by providing a replacement name for the species: Aricidea (Acmira) jeaneteae Langeneck, Busoni, Aliani & Castelli, 2017. [details]
Taxonomy The posterior part of this species was unknown, as all the specimens (6) originally studied by Labier & Ramos (1974) were incomplete. This made the inclusion of the species in any of the known subgenera of Aricidea impossible, as no information on the modified chaetae was available. Langeneck et al. (2017) studied 3 additional specimens newly collected and determined that the taxon should be included in the subgenus Acmira. [details]
Type locality Abyssal plain of the Western Mediterranean Sea (from 37°50.7'N, 05°17.0'E, to 37°50.0'N, 05°24.0'E) (detailed data on the type locality obtained from Chardy et al., 1973). [details]
