Status Schmidt (1857: p. 354) already has doubts about the placement in the genus Mesostomum. According to him it could as well...  
Status Schmidt (1857: p. 354) already has doubts about the placement in the genus Mesostomum. According to him it could as well belong to Vortex. However, he states that the species would be "instantly recognisable", a statement later denied by Graff (1913: p.353–354, the again placed in Mesostomum), who considers it a species dubia, as well as by Den Hartog (1966: p.158, here again within Proxenetes), who states the species is "very inadequately described". [details]
