Distribution Scotland, Wales, Brittany, both sides of the English Channel, Mediterranean coast of France, NE Sardinia (Italy). [details]
Etymology The specific name (celticum, L.-celtic) relates to the distribution of the species in Wales, Scotland and France. [details]
Reproduction Some of the larger specimens collected at Milford Haven, Wales (collected in July 1987 or August 1985) were ovigerous. The eggs were discoid with a maximum diameter in August of 80 micra. The specimen from Banyuls (French Mediterranean) was collected in October 1987 and had eggs up to 100 micra diameter. The two smallest juveniles were obtained from Loch Creran (Scotland) in September 1985. [details]
