Depth range From low tide to less than 200 m. Pettibone (1962) recorded the species from about 460 m (250 fathoms). [details]
Distribution Northeast Pacific Ocean, from Alaska to California. [details]
Etymology The species is named for Mr. Cyril Berkeley and Mrs. Edith Berkeley, ''who kindly sent me the specimens at my request'' (Pettibone, 1962: 78-79). [details]
Habitat More common on sandy sediments, but also found in mud, normally from subtidal to less than 200 m. [details]
Reproduction Gravid specimens found in March in British Columbia (USNM 81750), and in May and June in California (CAS 153860, 134768). [details]
Type locality Departure Bay beach, east coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, Northeast Pacific (gazetteer estimate 49.202º, -123.969º). [details]
